Description

Whatever the gap in the market, or the gap in our offering – our starting point is always the urgent need to get sustainable footwear out-there. At Vivo we frame it as regenerative footwear. With the Geo Racer Knit we wanted to blow the doors off our own standards - our sustainability matrix – make the Knit 100% recyclable. For versatile workouts, I’d give this shoe a strong 8/10. The upper is secure enough for most versatile workout demands and the mesh breathes well to keep the feet cool during longer sessions. Below, I’m going to break down some of the most notable construction details about the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit. Vivobarefoot used fewer materials in this model compared to previous iterations which also contributes to the weight of this shoe. If you want something super lightweight that feels like nothing on the foot, then the Primus Lite III is a good model to explore.

Across all of my tests, I’ve really enjoyed training in and wearing the Vivobarefoot Primus Lite III, and have a few pros to note about this model. For the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit’s performance, I’m breaking the below into a few different sections to discuss how this barefoot shoe performs in a variety of settings. If you have further questions about the construction of this model, I’d be glad to answer anything you have so drop comments below as you have them.

Takeaway Thoughts

Sole: I do not think this sole feels as flexible as my Gobi IIs, despite being marketed as the same soles, but in a specific way. These feels like they are slapping the ground vs flexing with my foot as I run. This is definitely a road running shoe, as there are no lugs to help with traction off-road. I’d also argue these are only good in dry/fair weather. I had little to no traction when I used them on days it rained or if I stepped in a puddle from snow. Regarding durability, the Vivobarefoot Primus Lite III should last you a while. The only areas that I can see being problematic for heavy daily usage include the sole tread fading and colorways getting dirty.

I’ve worn Vivo’s before, so I was excited to take these out on the road,” says tester Louise. “Side note: if you’ve never worn barefoot shoes before, they can take some getting used to – especially for running. Take it gently and don’t take them straight out for a long run!”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

It’s no secret that a majority of barefoot shoes are not the most aesthetically pleasing but I think this model does a good job at working around this. Vivobarefoot Primus Lite III Sizing Note, you can certainly run in them, but I’m choosing not to so they go the distance in regard to their overall durability. If you do run in them, I’d suggest being conscious of the sole and upper construction and if you notice either breaking down, stop the running to prolong your shoe’s life. Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit Performance In this context, I feel like it’s more of a matter of personal preference. If you like your shoes to fit a bit snugger in length (you’ll still have plenty of toe box width and room) and plan to use them for versatile training, then you may want to go a size down from your traditional size. If you don’t mind a little extra length, then stay true-to-size. Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit Price I would recommend these shoes to someone who has been running for a while rather than a beginner,” says Louise. “It’s good to have a bit of context of the shoe landscape before making a change to barefoot. Vivo Barefoot shoes are very climate friendly, as they’re made with recycled and vegan materials and I also love their portability. You can slip them into an average-sized handbag or hand luggage for travel, and they bend into a portable shape too.” How do the Vivo Geo Racer Knit fit? The only caveat to running is once again the kit potentially stretching and outdoor elements causing some breakdown.
