These 3-ingredient gummy bears were inspired by my recipe for homemade gummy worms, and both recipes use the same ingredients. I’m glad I checked ahead of time to see if I was supposed to keep the lids off until after they’re set, because I would’ve just put the lids on, but now that I think about it, it’ll take longer for it to cool if the lids are on. Gelatin consists of partially hydrolyzed collagen, a protein which is highly abundant in animal tissues such as bone and skin. Am a jello lover from way, way back, so I can tell you that after trying out this recipe (used orange along with some mandarins), this is a GREAT RECIPE!

The gelatin will begin to solidify when it comes in contact with moisture; while it will melt in the microwave, it makes it more difficult to work with. One little tip for removing the gems is to pull away the top edge and loosen the gem first before popping it out of the mold.
