Smells of the salt sea, washed up kelp on damp beach sand and the sounds of waves crashing aren't too far behind. The fragrance has some basic but important opening to dry-down changes, the opening favors the sweet citrus notes but these dissipate towards the dry-down, simultaneously, the woodsy notes and clary sage develop to accompany the seaweed going forward. In the air I smell the most seaweed + combo of citriuses (oranges + mandarin probs), somewhat seaweed vibe. I believe the saltiness comes through from the seaweed note, but in my opinion comes across very different in comparison to other fragrances I have with the seaweed note. I liked it but much preferred the 2008 Dior Homme Sport (masterpiece) at the time, so my ex took the Aqva for herself!

The initial citrus opening is a bit like Polo Deep Blue Parfum to my nose, that "unripe" green mango note, but a bit sweeter, just what I hoped Polo DBP would be. True, there have been several successful flankers that outperform the original, such as Aqva Amara and Aqva Atlantiqve. Whereas other aquatics conjure up images of crystal blue chlorinated swimming pools, Bvlgari Aqva is the sea -- dark, deep, blue-green waves crashing against a craggy coast.Bvgari Aqua Pour Homme features opens with the vibrant, sunny freshness of orange leaves and mandarin. Nobody will dislike smelling this on you, although it might come off as a bit "gym bro" to some people. I’m not sure I’d purchase this because I do feel it would put off some innocent bystanders, but I definitely understand this fragrance and think it’s well-made. I’m a little disappointed with this if I’m honest, considering this is in the same family as Aqva Amara I was expecting something a little more unique.

After it had been on me for 10-15 minutes the heart fragrance started showing up and it was a subtle, pleasant smell. To my dismay, it smells like it was stripped down, castrated, distorted, chewed up, spat out, and bottled under the old name.Everytime I use it, I forget how at ease my body and mind because it reminds me of the beauty of the ocean and how the unknown within the ocean sparks curiosity. the 2021 version still gives you the citrus opening, the seaweed middle note and the powdery amber base note but the saltiness “aura” is nowhere to be found. Not a departure from the scent itself, but just a higher concentration of all of that ocean-y goodness. However, this surprises you with its sillage; as every once and awhile you'll catch yourself having a "oh, is that me?
